Stay in the Old Court House at Wira
Cabin | Welcome to Wira Bruk, a magical and picturesque village in beautiful Roslagen! The accommodation is a part of the centrally located old court house, Tingshuset, from the 18th century and has a private entrance and patio and a barbeque area.
This light and lovely one room apartment of about 30 m2 and a lovely, large kitchen is in the old court house at Wira. The apartment has been kept and decorated with great care for historic details. Old wooden floor, a traditional Husqvarna cooker and an original tiled stove from the 19th century sets an historic atmosphere.
The newly installed bathroom has a shower and a classic English style lavatory. From the kitchen window there is a lovely view of the flowing brook and the garden. The kitchen is equipped with fridge, stove with oven, electric kettle and coffee maker. There is also a large TV. The bedroom sleeps at least four people: one double bed and one bunk bed.
Wira Bruk is close to the archipelago (10 minutes from the island of Ljusterö). You can come here by boat, bus or car. You can also hike or go by bike to get here. The popular Roslagsleden trail passes through the village. Leg 5 of the trail ends at Wira Bruk and leg 6 towards Penningby starts here. Bus 620 from Åkersberga leaves several times a day and stops at Wira Bruk. It takes just over an hour to go from Östra station in Stockholm to Wira Bruk.
In the area there are several lovely lakes, like the very clean lake Largen, as well as a smaller lake about 10 minutes’ walk away. The scenic surroundings boasts a number of lovely hiking trails and cycling routes. There are also boat rental and kayaking courses in the area. The nearest grocery store is 5 minutes away by car.
