Welcome to Gimo Herrgård!
Embedded in grand forests and sparkling lakes lies beautiful Gimo Herrgård - close to nature but yet at convenient distance from Stockholm and Uppsala.
Gimo Herrgård was built in the 1760's and was designed by Sweden's most prominent architect of that time, Jean-Eric Rehn. Jean-Eric Rehn also designed some of the interiors at the royal castle Drottningholm in Stockholm. Gimo Herrgård is considered the first Gustavian manor in Sweden, built during the reign of Gustav III. Gustav was very culturally interested and founded the Royal Theatre and the Opera House, both in Stockholm.
Today Gimo Herrgård is a four star hotel with 88 rooms and suites, each individually designed and equipped with modern amenities and contemporary 18th century details. By the Gimo Lake lies the Boathouse, where you can relax after a busy day. The Boathouse features a bar, lounge, sauna, a large deck, wood-heated hot tub and several baots and canoes.
